Supplements
a) CoQ10
Vitamins&Minerals
a) Vitamin B3 (Niacin) - may lower total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides and increase HDL.
b) Chromium Picolinate - is a trace mineral that may increase fat loss and regulate blood sugar.
c) Vitamin E - the National Institute of Aging, Tufts University & the University of Arizona have found that vitamin E may help inhibit and slow the development of LDL oxidation and so help prevent atherosclerosis.
Herbs
a) Curcumin (turmeric) - scientific evidence has shown that curcumin also known as turmeric root, a native of India, has the potential to lower cholesterol. It may interfere with intestinal cholesterol uptake increasing the conversion of cholesterol into bile acids and excreting the bile acids.
b) Gugulipid - this powerful ancient remedy is from the "Mukul" tree of India. It has been used for thousands of years to alleviate problems associated with obesity. It may reduce total serum cholesterol, triglycerides and increase HDL cholesterol.
c) Garlic - a study published in the journal of nutrition research showed garlic supplementation is important to reduce LDL cholesterol, it also inhibits LDL oxidation.
d) Omega-3, Flaxseed & Fish Oil - may reduce high levels of LDL and triglycerides. Studies have demonstrated that Alpha-linolenic acid (from flaxseed) may reduce LDL thereby preventing atherosclerosis, stroke and second heart attacks.
