If you want good health, then take the necessary steps. Time can slip away like grains of sand through the hourglass. Our lifestyles are so busy and hectic that we forget about our health. Take charge of your health now before you reach a point of no return. "An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure".
Nobel Prize winner, Dr. Szent Gyorgyi said,"The human body is a better machine than we think, it is only when we treat it bad that it fails". So, how you take care of your health today is how you will live tomorrow. If there's a will to be healthy, there's always a time to create a healthier you, no matter how many years of neglect are behind you. First of all we have to understand the causative factors that prevent good health.
As we examine the health problems that plague our planet, we realize that we're dealing with hordes of various diseases and chronic illnesses. Each day our body receives countless invisible assaults! In spite of such massive bombardment constantly, our body tries to sustain the assaults and keep itself healthy. However, it needs reinforcements to perform at optimal capacity and these reinforcements can be in the form of herbs, vitamins and supplements. Positive lifestyle modifications also help the body keep itself healthy and prevent illness. Let's enumerate the assaults that our body suffers every day. We can categorize them as:
i) Internal
a) Stress.
b) Biochemical and physiologic pressures (Glycation Methylation etc.).
c) Increased production of reactive oxygen metabolites (ROM) free radicals.
d) Bacteria, viruses, toxins and various parasites establishing a stronghold over health due to a suppressed immune system.
e) Depression and low emotional levels.
f) Imbalance of healing energies in the body.
ii) External
a) Environmental contaminants due to toxic and polluted environment.
b) Metal toxicity from industries, acid rain.
c) Nutritionally depleted foods, flawed digestion and improper elimination.
d) Polluted drinking water.
e) Ultraviolet radiation.
f) Unhealthy lifestyle: i) Unhealthy eating habits ii) smoking iii) alcohol iv) lack of exercise v) sleeplessness.
g) Aging.
In spite of all the above assaults, the body is designed to heal itself. It has incredible healing potential. But unfortunately, there's a limit and all the above factors influence the body, mind and spirit and compromise its ability to utilize it's own weaponry. The body at times cannot handle such a big onslaught from every quarter, thus, it comes to a halt until attended to. Hippocrates, the father of medicine rightly said "disease do not fall on us all of a sudden". So, the wisest counsel is that we should take greater responsibility for our own healthy well-being and good health. We need to start by upgrading our own strength and strategy for healthy living. The body responds to how it's treated. Treat it well, take care of it and it can defy illness. Good health is the most precious possession one can have, to preserve it or to ruin it is absolutely in our hands. "The bottom line is, at the heart of everything you do for healthy living, you should do it heartily".
